The Lost Explorers

<-Index

The Tortollan Explorers are a one-phase boss with three intermissions. Two of the bosses need to be tanked, while the last boss wanders the arena in a circle. A hidden fourth boss slowly builds up energy to possess the Tortollans and wipe the group. Feeding a disgusting fish resets this energy, but gives the Tortollan two casts of their extra ability. Each boss has one regular ability and one extra ability.

The First Mate should be given the first fish, the Scrollsage the second and the Trader the third. Each Tortollan can only get a fish once.

First Mate Nama

The main boss to be tanked, Nama has two swords and chases reliably.

Normal Ability - Shell Spin (Dodge)

Three shells will be fired from a frontal cone. The shells stun anyone hit.

Extra Ability - Mighty Thud (Soak)

Three targets will get a soak put on them. Take it close to the tanks so it’s easier to soak.

Steady Strikes (Tanks)

Nama deals 4% increased damage with every hit. Tanks should swap as soon as their stacks fall off (Usually around 20 stacks).

Scrollsage Iku

The second boss to be tanked, this one teleports around and does a lot of casting, making Iku a lot harder to lead around.

Normal Ability - Blink Nova (Positioning)

Iku targets a player and teleports to them after a few seconds. The target should move ahead of where the Trader is walking to minimize damage to the rest of the raid, while maintaining cleave.

Extra Ability - Frostfire Volley

An even amount of players will be targeted (half with fire and half with ice). Take the zones to the edge of the arena and look for someone with the opposite element to yourself. Standing in a puddle of the opposite element removes your dot and clears the zone, so it should be your priority.

Shredding Shards (Tanks)

Iku does a burst of damage and leaves a vulnerability on the tanks. Swap when the cast is finished or your stacks have fallen off.

Trader Gebo

The trader wanders the arena and the tanks will be chasing them. Gebo has no tank swap mechanics and ignores threat.

Normal Ability - Throw Junk (Soaks)

Gebo regularly throws boxes around the arena. Stepping on one puts a brief dot on you, but the crates will explode if left alone for two long. Stepping on crates is also the only way to find the Disgusting fish, so be alert if you find it. Only take one or two crates before pausing to let your dots fall off.

Extra Ability - Mushroom Toss/Explosive Surprise

Gebo will start by throwing out a bunch of mushroom ands follow up with a nova bomb. Stand near a mushroom and use it to bounce over the nova. Mushrooms explode a few seconds after being used so they can be shared, but save them until the explosion goes off.
